With over two decades of experience in Ukraine, Eastern Europe and Central Asia, Michael has advised governments, political leaders, and international stakeholders on governance, economic reforms, and political developments. Michael serves as Managing Director at Trident Forward and is a leading expert in Ukraine on political risk forecasting at both the national and subnational level.

Over the past 15 years Michael, from on the ground in Ukraine, led public opinion research programs focused on political and economic risk across Ukraine including deep-dive studies into specific Ukrainian municipalities. He has advised successive Ukrainian governments on diverse economic and governance reforms and has briefed national governments, diplomatic missions while also acting as a regular briefer on political developments in Ukraine for five U.S. Ambassadors.
